NLCA participated in the Environmental Justice Take Action Forum & Listening Session a few weeks ago and we’re excited for the future! We discussed how the transition to a Clean Energy Economy will benefit South DeKalb communities, top environmental health concerns in our community, what resources can help over the next 10 years, and what is available to South DeKalb residents right now. This important dialogue will continue at a next meeting on January 27, 2024.

Thank you to State Rep. Becky Evans for organizing the event, Georgia Power and Rhonda Thomas for sponsoring, and everyone who came in support including New Life Church, Pastor Marlin Harris, DeKalb County, Science for Georgia, Georgia State University, GCV Education Fund, GIPL SouthRiver Watershed Alliance, Georgia WAND, Commissioner Ted Terry, Snapping Shoals EMC, and MARTA.
