Kenyatta Brown’s journey with PeopleShores at New Life Community Alliance (NLCA) is a testament to his dedication and leadership. Kenyatta joined PeopleShores in June 2024 as the Director of Call Center Services. In just four months, his hard work led to a promotion to Interim Operating Officer. “I was honored and excited,” Kenyatta says. “Being able to grow this quickly in a place I believe in is a great feeling.”

When he started, Kenyatta’s goal was to make PeopleShores more than a workplace. Under his guidance, the call center became a supportive environment where clients received training, mentorship, and a sense of purpose. His work has helped many clients go from uncertain beginnings to stable, promising careers.
As Interim Operating Officer, Kenyatta now oversees PeopleShores’ entire operation. His leadership is centered on putting people first. “[My employees] spend more time here than they do with their family,” he explains. “So I try to create a family-oriented environment, make it fun for them, and give them skills to jumpstart their careers.”

Kenyatta’s approach is deeply focused on the community. Each day, he works to ensure every client has a chance to succeed. “I’m just running around,” he says with a laugh, describing his energy and hands-on style. For him, every task is a chance to empower someone and help them move toward a brighter future.

Looking ahead, Kenyatta envisions PeopleShores as a hub for career growth and skill-building. His hope is to see it thrive as a model for workforce development, giving people the tools they need to achieve independence.

Though Kenyatta’s time leading PeopleShores is just beginning, his impact is already clear. His dedication inspires those around him and reinforces the idea that true service is about lifting others up and creating opportunities. With Kenyatta at the helm, PeopleShores is committed to making a difference, one career at a time.
