Mark your calendars for AI 101 Listening Session on Saturday, February 24th, from 10 am – 12 pm at New Life Community Alliance!

The global landscape is undergoing a transformation driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI), with a specific focus on Generative AI, exemplified by innovations like ChatGPT. A critical question arises: How equipped are black and brown communities to participate in this evolving landscape?

AI is not a recent concept; it has roots dating back to early civilizations but underwent a significant transformation in 1956. The term “artificial intelligence” was coined at the Dartmouth Workshop, where researchers convened to explore the potential of creating machines capable of emulating human intelligence.

South DeKalb Improvement Association Education (SDIAE) in collaboration with Lonnie Johnson STEM Center and other organizations in metro Atlanta is leading the charge in educating black and brown scholars on staying at the forefront of innovation.

Topics include:

  1. AI Fundamentals: Introduction to AI, machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI (ChatGPT – Open AI).
  2. AI effects on Black and Brown Communities: Readiness and Preparedness for the evolution of AI.
  3. AI in Civics: Exploring AI applications in government, public policy, and civic engagement.
  4. Ethical AI: Discussions on bias, transparency, and ethical considerations in AI.
