DeKalb County Warming Centers to Open on Sunday and Monday, Jan. 28 and 29
DECATUR, Ga. – Due to forecasted cold weather, DeKalb County will open five warming centers for residents on Sun., Jan. 28, and Mon., Jan. 29 starting at 8 p.m. to use at the following locations:
- Fire Station 3, 100 N. Clarendon Avenue, Avondale Estates, GA 30002
- Fire Station 4, 4540 Flakes Mill Road, Ellenwood, GA 30294
- Fire Station 6, 2342 Flat Shoals Road, Atlanta, GA 30316
- North DeKalb Senior Center, 3393 Malone Drive, Chamblee, GA 30341
- Frontline Response International, 2585 Gresham Road, Atlanta 30316.
In addition, for your awareness please note the following- effective, Monday January 8, 2024.
- New Life Community Alliance Warming Station, continues to be open 7 days a week
3592 Flat Shoals Road, Decatur GA, 30034, Building 2 (GYM)
The Warming Station Offers:
- A safe, clean environment for men and women.
- Armed security provided overnight.
- Individual sleeping cots with clean bedding and a bin to store personal items.
- Hot meal upon arrival, breakfast in the morning and lunch when departing.
Warming Station Rules:
- No alcohol, weapons, smoking, or sharing of prescription drugs are allowed.
- All prohibited items and tobacco products will be turned over to the staff for appropriate storage during the guest’s stay.
