Unity in Action: NLCA Supports McNair Students and Families

To close out the month of February, McNair High School celebrated its annual Unity Assembly Spirit Week. Each day featured a fun or wacky dress code for students and staff, creating opportunities for connection, school pride, and a little extra laughter in the halls.

During this festive week, McNair partnered with New Life Community Alliance (NLCA) to host Unity Day, an event designed to connect parents and guardians in the McNair cluster with programs and services available in South DeKalb.

Several organizations joined together to share resources and support with families, including:

Attendees also participated in a guided tour of NLCA’s on-campus services, including the Garments of Grace Clothing Store, the Praise Salon and Barber Shop, and the Food Pantry. The tour offered families a hands-on look at the programs designed to support stability and opportunity in South DeKalb.

By the end of the event, many attendees had signed up for services provided by NLCA and its partners. This was a meaningful step toward connecting families with the resources they need to thrive. NLCA and the DeKalb County School District continue to grow our partnership to support the parents and students who attend the schools in South DeKalb.
