Tahita Hill has faced many traumatic challenges in her life for the past 15 years, from losing her close family members to becoming a homeless single mom.
Facing housing insecurity, she remembered NLCA. She contacted us for the Motel2Home Program, but lost contact with each other before we could complete the process in 2019.
During that time, she briefly found housing only to have it sold without her knowledge. After that, she found another property but payments were mishandled, resulting in eviction threats and another stint in a motel.
Leading her back to NLCA, Ms. Hill was able to get approved for the Motel2Home Program and is now currently finishing the process so she can close the door on motels and open the door of her own home.
Ms. Hill knew that NLCA was a community resource, a safe haven, and beacon of hope. NLCA is committed to building thriving communities and it starts with stories like these.
