Miles That Matter: Join the Movement to Change Lives in South DeKalb

Proceeds from the 5K will go directly to life-changing programs serving thousands in Greater Atlanta

DECATUR, Ga. (July 29, 2025) — New Life Community Alliance (NLCA) is excited to announce the return of the Run to Change a Life 5K on Saturday, September 13 at 8:00 a.m., hosted at New Life Church, 3592 Flat Shoals Rd, Decatur, GA. The race is officially recognized as an Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race Qualifying Event and promises to be a powerful day of movement and mission.

“This is more than a run — it’s a call to action,” said Michael Bryant, CEO of NLCA. “Every step taken at the Run to Change a Life 5K directly supports the neighbors we serve — helping families stay housed, access healthy food, and connect with education and employment. We can’t wait to see our community show up strong again this year.”

Registration is open now through September 10. Participants can walk, run, jog, or join virtually from anywhere. Proceeds benefit NLCA’s life-changing programs that combat poverty and empower families across South DeKalb and metro Atlanta. Register at tinyurl.com/7thnlca5k.

Volunteers are also needed to help bring this impactful event to life. From handing out water to cheering on finishers, volunteers are a vital part of race day. Sign up to volunteer at www.nlca-atl.org/about-us/volunteer-with-us/.
