NLCA Receives $25K Georgia Power Grant for Food Access

New Life Community Alliance (NLCA) is proud to announce that we are the recipient of a $25,000 grant from Georgia Power, supporting our ongoing efforts to address food insecurity in South DeKalb.

Food insecurity remains one of the most pressing challenges in South DeKalb. Many families live in areas with limited access to grocery stores offering fresh, healthy food. These barriers make it difficult for families to access the nutrition they need to live well.

Georgia Power is committed to strengthening the communities it serves by investing in initiatives that create meaningful, lasting impact. At NLCA, we share that commitment through programs designed to meet both urgent and long-term needs.

Through initiatives like our Food Distribution Center, HLE Christmas Breakfast, and Fill the SNAP Gap Fund, NLCA works daily to combat hunger and support families across South DeKalb.

This $25,000 grant from Georgia Power will directly support two critical programs:

These efforts ensure that children and families have consistent access to nutritious food, supporting both health and early childhood development.

By investing in food access, Georgia Power is helping NLCA build stronger, healthier communities where every family has the opportunity to thrive. We are grateful for this partnership and the shared commitment to creating lasting change in South DeKalb.
